Making a notable return, the University of the East (UE) Lex Societas Orientis (LexSo) ranked first among the Manila campus’ Top 10 Outstanding Recognized Student Organizations (RSOs) during the awarding ceremony held at the SFC Briefing Room on May 29.
Despite being unranked last year, the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS)-based organization rose to the top, joining the ranks of other prominent groups recognized among UE Manila’s outstanding RSOs.
In an exclusive interview with the DAWN, LexSo President Charles Fernando credited their shared belief in a clear vision and a strong system for propelling them to the top spot.
“At the end of the day, being the top organization was once just a dream; it became possible because that dream was shared by people who were willing to work for it,” the president shared.
The organization’s vision of fostering a tight-knit community remains evident, as Fernando hopes future LexSo leaders will be reminded that the organization exists for its members.
“I hope LexSo continues to be a place where Legal Management students feel that they belong—a place where they can grow academically, develop as leaders, serve others, and enjoy their college life at the same time,” he added.
Varying from advocacy groups, humanitarian bodies, interest-based and faith-centered communities, to program-focused organizations, the complete list of the campus’ Top 10 Outstanding RSOs is as follows:
Rank 1: Lex Societas Orientis
Rank 2: Filipino-Chinese Dental Students' Association
Rank 3: Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants
Rank 4: Dental Health Team
Rank 5: Philippine Dental Students Association
Rank 6: Achievers’ Council for Excellence
Rank 7: Philippine Association of Nutrition - Sigma Chi, and Society of Computer Engineering Students
Rank 8: Association of Broadcasting Students
Rank 9: UE Psychology Society
Rank 10: Entertainment and Multimedia Computing Students Society, and Computer Students Society
In coordination with the Student Affairs Office (SAO), the awarding ceremony recognized public-spirited students, campus RSOs, and retiring faculty members through certificates of appreciation.
