ACCESSIBILITY LAW (BP 344) SEMINAR

An enlightening seminar on Accessibility Law (BP 344) was conducted on 15 August 2025 as a post celebration for the National Disability Prevention and Rehabilition Week. The seminar was led by ๐˜พ๐™Š๐™ˆ๐™ˆ๐™Š ๐™‹๐™๐™๐˜ฟ๐™€๐™‰๐˜พ๐™„๐™Š ๐˜พ ๐™‹๐˜ผ๐™๐™๐™„๐˜พ๐™„๐™Š ๐™…๐™ ๐™‹๐˜พ๐™‚, Commander of the Coast Guard Infrastructure Development Service, at the Coast Guard Education Training and Doctrine Command (CGETDC) Marilag Hall.

In his speech, the Commander emphasized the importance of active participation, urging CGIDS personnel to engage fully with the seminarโ€™s objectives. With valuable insights from guest speakers AR. Rolando Perolina, Jr. and AR. Micah Vicente, this event marks a significant step toward building more accessible and inclusive PCG spaces.

The seminar on Accessibility Law (BP 344) focused on educating participants about the legal framework designed to ensure equal access to public spaces for persons with disabilities in the Philippines. The seminar highlighted key provisions of the law, such as the requirement for ramps, wider doorways, and accessible restrooms, as well as the legal implications for non-compliance. The resource speakers highlighted the impact of the law on planning and design, emphasizing the importance of inclusivity in creating environments where everyone, regardless of physical ability, can navigate with ease. The session also explored recent updates and challenges in the implementation of the law, encouraging the PCG to collaborate for a more accessible and equitable society.
