Officially named the , Langya, has never infected humans before. It does belong to the family that also contains five other known viruses. Two of which are considered highly viral and fatal. Human infection seems to be spreading sporadically. Researchers do not believe that this virus will be as devastating as 19 because it is less lethal and not easily transmissible from human to human.
