There are two types of whisky people and they cannot understand each other.

Type 1 opens a bottle, pours a glass, and immediately starts talking about finish length and nose profile. They have a notebook. They have opinions about the correct size of a Glencairn. They say the word "terroir" without irony.

Type 2 opens a bottle, pours two fingers, and says: "This is good." They are not wrong. They might actually be right more often.

Neither is better. But they will never agree on this.
