On this day, eight years ago, I boarded All Nippon Airways (All Nippon Airways) flight NH870 to Japan.

I had just closed a 12-year chapter in media.
Excitement and uncertainty sat beside me the entire flight — equal parts faith and fear over a 180-degree career turn.

Somewhere at 30,000 feet, I found myself talking to a cabin crew. Sabi ko, "in a few days i'll be starting my pilot journey."

She didn’t just offer polite encouragement.
She listened. She affirmed. She reminded me that new beginnings aren’t detours — they’re new horizons waiting to be claimed.

Before landing, she returned with a small bag of goodies and a handwritten note.

Simple gesture. Profound impact.
Enough to trust the process.
Enough to keep going.

A simple gesture — but at that point in my life, it meant everything.

Life has a way of sending the right people at the right altitude. Minsan, simpleng "Kaya mo iyan. Kakayanin mo iyan."

It reinforced something I carry with me to this day: Sometimes, all it takes is one conversation, one affirmation, one act of kindness to help someone keep moving forward.

Leadership, growth, and reinvention are rarely linear. But when we trust the process — and when we become that voice of encouragement for others — we create lift not just for ourselves, but for those around us.
