Yesterday, my wife brought me to a local Chao Long spot here in Puerto Princesa City. I honestly told her that Chao Long has never been my cup of tea… my first encounter with that soup years ago wasn’t exactly memorable.

But to my surprise… this one completely changed my mind.

The handmade noodles had a firmness that gave it a perfect “al dente” bite, the beef ribs and brisket were so tender they were practically falling off the bone, and the broth…wow! Very rich, flavorful, and comforting. I ended up finishing an entire bowl without even realizing it.

And yes, I’m already planning to go back soon.

Highly recommended! If you’re in Palawan, make sure to stop by Rene's Saigon. Trust me, it’s worth it.
