Gayunpaman, may mga sumusubok pa rin na iabante ang naratibo ng mga komunidad. Sa unang parte ng KWENTONG MAS-Angat, samahan natin si Gwendolyn Gay L. Gaongen mula sa Radyo Sagada 104.7 FM, na kauna-unahang indigenous peoples community radio station sa rehiyon na itinatag noong 2010.

Campus journalists of The Flint partook in the webinar "BOT THERE, DONE THAT" hosted by the Polytechnic University of the Philippines' College of Communication Bachelor of Arts in Journalism Block 4-1D and was guested by PressONE.PH's Media Editor Mr. Niceforo Vince Balbedina III on Wednesday — June 13, 2024.

The webinar brought clarity to students regarding the issue of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its threats to the field of Journalism and Art.

Hosts of the webinar started the meeting with an ice breaker, where aspiring journalists answered whether the presented content is AI generated or not.

Multiple journalists from The Flint participated in this ice breaker, making it easier for them to be informed about the webinar's topic.

After the ice breaker, Mr. Balbedina proceeded to discuss the webinar's lecture named "Death of Journos?"

During the lecture, the multiple perspectives of AI were presented. Multiple examples of the ongoing threats of AI towards our country's way of information intake and the opportunities that AI has provided the field of journalism was presented.

"You have to deal with this—without forgetting that you are a journalist. You are a journalist first—You are a journalist first then you are everything else second. You are a journalist first—you will use your craft to protect the people," Mr. Balbedina stated as an advice on how journalists should deal with the misinformation created by AI.

While listening to the webinar, aspiring journalists reached out to the guest speaker for advice on how they could use AI responsibly.

"Use AI in the way that you need to use it, not the way na you think it will make your job just easier." "Kailangang tandaan ng campus journalists—na journalist sila! Na hindi lang sila estudyante na basta nalang inutusan na gumawa ng output—so gawin nalang natin yung pinaka madaling paraan." Mr. Balbedina replied, making it clear that campus journalists should use AI as a foundation of their outputs, rather than using it to create their output itself.
