That’s exactly the experience Kat and her partners created at Salaryman. They designed the space to offer two distinct worlds: a cozy, traditional Izakaya on the ground floor for intimate meals, and a high-energy bar waiting just a few steps up.

Walking onto the second floor feels like stepping into a Japanese train station, complete with industrial metal and subway-style hand straps built specifically for the nightlife crowd.

Even the name tells a story. It’s a tribute to the hardworking "Salaryman" or white-collar professionals paired with the number 4649 — which is a Japanese text-speak for Yoroshiku, or "nice to meet you."

Kat built this together with her brother Raoul and their good friend Dondz — mixing corporate and nightlife backgrounds to bring the concept to life.

By bringing the Japanese tradition of Nomikai (drinking party) to Forbestown, the team turned a shared gut feeling into a space that feels like a genuine piece of Tokyo nightlife.

At the end of the day, Salaryman x 4649 stands out because they chose to stay unapologetically themselves. They created more than just a restaurant — they built a space where the community can truly connect.
