Scientists from Yale University discovered a fungus called Pestalotiopsis microspora in the Amazon rainforest that can break down polyurethane plastic, even without oxygen. 🌿🧫

This means it could work in buried waste too. While it shows promise for future plastic cleanup, tests so far are only in labs — not yet on a large scale. ♻️
