๐‰๐€๐ & ๐†๐”๐’

They're just like Cinderella's Jaq and Gus!

๐‰๐€๐ may be smaller, but he's always the mastermind behind every adventure (and every bit of chaos). A natural leader... just not always in the direction you'd expect. ๐Ÿ˜ˆ

๐†๐”๐’, on the other paw, is rounder, snack-motivated, and convinced that every rustling leaf is a potential threat. ๐Ÿ‚

One leads the mischief; the other follows along with snacks and mild panic.

Honestly, they're living proof that some characters find their way into real life. ๐Ÿงก๐Ÿ’š

Grumpiest old man, Mango.

July 2017 โ€“ May 17, 2026. I donโ€™t even know the date of your birth.

It took him more or less a year to start trusting me. He was so scared of people. Iโ€™m not really sure how that happened because he didnโ€™t grow up under my care. He was also not the one who asks for head sratches and belly rubs. The moment I extend my hand, he go away and bark. ๐Ÿ™ˆ

I would say he was the most good-looking in the pack once his hair started to grow out and his ears were cut short. It took me 2 years to realize how cute he really was. ๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿฅน

The only trick he knew was sit, and he would bark like there was no tomorrow whenever you had a treat in hand. He loved snuffle mats and cloth puzzles, but would eventually give way to Yoki whenever Yoki growled at him... except for his ramen snuffle mat. He would finish it before Yoki even figured out there were treats inside. He also loved chews, even the ones the rest of the pack didnโ€™t like.

When Jaq reached adulthood, they became arch nemeses. They fought a lot, and it involved blood, limping, missing teeth, and tongue slits. All of Mangoโ€™s upper front teeth were gone, his tongue had slits while Jaq only lost one tooth. ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ

He was the first one to develop joint problems, and you probably bought a Cirius Pet red light therapy device because of my recommendations. haha It really helped him, and so did our Dorwest supplements. His eyes we're always teary and he'd have lotsa gunk after a day or two! We changed his kibbles to NC and it actually helped!

We finally found out last year that he was the one making everyone angry in their sleeping cages. He would bark angrily and likely start a fight, so we changed his roomies from Yoki to either Z or Gus and placed him in the corner room so he wouldnโ€™t pester Yoki and Oreo + Jaq.

Do you know that Yoki stopped growling and barking outside, even at night and at dawn?

Itโ€™s been a week without you. Itโ€™s been so quiet.

I hate that Iโ€™m using past tense. I still canโ€™t fathom that you are not here with us anymore.

You wouldโ€™ve turned 9 this year, and I would have been so proud to have another healthy senior.

My groom finally stopped beefing with my face, so I'm back on the timeline. ๐Ÿ’…

Henlo everyone, this is your farm boi, Jaq, sharing something educational... ish. LONG POST AHEAD!

We noticed that our young, almost fruit-bearing coconuts near the banana plantations have been dying, so we asked the Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA) to inspect our area.

Turns out, nearby farmers are experiencing the SAME problem!

BEETLES ARE KILLING OUR COCONUTS.

These pests thrive in damp areas with rotting leaves and trees โ€” conditions common around plantations. To help identify the problem, Ms. M โ€” a very, very, very proactive young lady from the PCA, and her colleagues installed a pheromone trap near an infested area.

Guess what?

The beetles they found are no longer the usual black ones, but RED ONES that may have mutated due to pesticide use in nearby banana plantations. ๐Ÿ˜ญ This makes them much harder to control unless proper environmental hygiene is practiced, especially clearing rotting banana leaves and trunks.

Itโ€™s frustrating, but weโ€™re hopeful that the PCA and local coconut farmers can work together to fight this.

Pray for us, and wish us luck! ๐Ÿงก
