Personnel of the Lemery Fire Station, under the leadership of SFO4 Ruben V. Destacamento, Municipal Fire Marshal, took part in the live viewing of the Grand Launching of the Four (4) Unified 911 Satellite Command Centers, a significant initiative designed to strengthen the nation’s emergency response and crisis management capabilities.

In support of the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to enhance localized emergency response systems throughout the country, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), through the Emergency 911 National Office and the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), led the ceremonial launch of the Unified 911 Satellite Command Centers across Luzon and the Visayas.

The Philippines’ Unified 911 functions as a centralized emergency hotline that streamlines over 200 previously fragmented local emergency numbers into one free, nationwide, and 24/7 emergency contact system, providing quicker access to police, fire, medical, and rescue services.

This initiative aims to enhance the efficiency of emergency response operations by overcoming language and response-time challenges through strategically positioned, dialect-sensitive, and locally manned emergency coordination hubs. The establishment of these satellite command centers represents a major step toward creating a more responsive, accessible, and fully integrated emergency communication system for all Filipinos.
