Lipata, the SAS Coordinator Mr. Sandro Mejos, our Guidance associate Mr. Romel Gregorio, the school cashier sir Alfred Doncillo, the dedicated IT Department Head Sir Matthew Guco, our hardworking Senior High school Ma’am Analyn Jatap, and junior high school coordinator sir Allan Dumanais, our beloved college instructors, our passionate junior high school and senior high school teachers, our valued faculty and staff, our supportive parents, my fellow graduates, visitors, ladies and gentlemen, a pleasant evening!

Today is a moment filled with pride, reflection, and gratitude. Before we step forward to embrace the next chapter of our journey, it is only fitting that we pause and express our heartfelt appreciation to the people who have guided, supported, and believed in us throughout this academic journey.
With deep respect and sincere gratitude, I would like to share a few words on behalf of the graduating class.
As I stand here tonight, I would like to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who made this journey possible.

First and foremost, to our loving God, who guided, protected, and gave us the strength to persevere—not only to me, but to all the graduates gathered here tonight—we humbly thank You. Your love, mercy, and grace have been our foundation, and we are deeply grateful. You were with us through trials and triumphs, through the highs and lows of our lives, and You brought us to this very moment. We thank You for Your blessings, for answered prayers, and for the endless love You have shown to us.

To my family, who supported me every step of the way, thank you. Your unwavering belief in me, your guidance, and your love have been my strength. You are my everything—my motivation, my comfort, and my source of strength. To my mother, father, siblings, relatives, and loved ones, thank you for being there for me, for listening, for giving advice, and for loving me unconditionally.

Special mention to my older sister, who worked tirelessly to support my education despite life’s hardships, especially when she became the one we relied on—thank you so much for your endless support, not only for financial matters but also your guidance and encouragement. You became my inspiration to strive harder in my studies. You may not have imagined that I would become who I am today, but this moment is my way of repaying the trust you placed in me. To my family and to everyone present here today, we are deeply grateful for your unwavering support. What once seemed like a dream is now a reality because of your sacrifices, love, and selflessness—despite numerous expenses, you always put us first. Today, those dreams have finally borne fruit.

To my beloved partner, who has always supported me in all aspects of my life, thank you for coming into my life. Some say that love can be a distraction in one’s studies, but together we proved otherwise. Instead of hindrance, it motivated us to work harder and give our very best to reach this milestone. Thank you for your constant trust in me and for giving me the strength to believe in myself.

To my friends, who became my second family, thank you. We shared laughter, tears, and countless memories together. You stood by me through challenges and victories, and I am grateful for your friendship. From late-night study sessions to spontaneous adventures, you made my life meaningful.
To my classmates, thank you for the chance to know you and for the memories we created together—our beach outings, road trips, shared meals filled with laughter, and countless moments we experienced as one. Even if our time together was short, it brought me so much joy. Thank you, and until we meet again.

Not only to my fellow Bachelor of Science in Information Technology graduates, but also to graduates from other programs here today— to the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration students, who are always active in entrepreneurship and who generously provided snacks during intramurals so students would have something to eat, thank you.

To the Bachelor of Elementary Education and Bachelor of Secondary Education students, our future teachers, thank you for shaping the youth and helping them bring out their talents—not only academically but in all aspects of life. I deeply appreciate your hard work, sleepless nights, and sacrifices in preparing lesson plans to provide quality education to every learner.

To the Bachelor of Science in Criminology students, thank you for ensuring the safety of everyone. From guarding the gates to managing traffic for elementary students—whether under the scorching heat or during the rain—you were always there. During every school event, you stood watch, ensuring peace and order. Thank you for making every event safe and successful. To our brave criminology students, I salute you.
To our esteemed founder and School President, Dr. Eufemia A. Jatap, thank you for giving us a sanctuary of learning where dreams are built and futures are shaped. Your vision and generosity have opened doors for countless students to succeed. In this institution, we grew, learned, and prepared ourselves to make a difference. Your dedication to education empowered us to pursue our passions and reach our goals. We are grateful for the opportunities, resources, and support you provided. Your leadership inspired us to become leaders, innovators, and agents of change. We thank you for the values, principles, and ethics you instilled in us. Your commitment to excellence set the standard, and we promise to strive to live up to it. We are proud to be part of this community, and we promise to make you proud.

To our teachers and mentors who guided, taught, and inspired us, thank you very much. You ignited a passion within us, and we will carry the knowledge, skills, and values you taught throughout our lives. You challenged us to push our limits, explore, and discover our potentials. Your love for teaching, dedication, and care left a lasting impact on us.

To Colegio de San Juan Samar, our home for the past few years, thank you. You provided us with quality education, opportunities, and experiences that shaped us into who we are today. From classrooms to libraries and laboratories, you gave us a platform to grow, learn, and explore. We will always be grateful for the memories, friendships, and education we gained here.

As we look around today, we are reminded of the many people who contributed to our success. To the maintenance staff who kept our campus clean, to the administrators who worked tirelessly behind the scenes—thank you. Your efforts and dedication do not go unnoticed. To the canteen staff who kept us nourished and the security guards who ensured our safety—thank you. Your contributions may seem small, but they made a huge difference in our lives.

To my fellow graduates, it is an honor to stand here with you today. We made it, and now we are ready to face the world. Let us make a difference, inspire others, and leave our mark. Let us also thank ourselves—for persevering despite countless activities, projects, exams, and moments of doubt. There were times that when we wondered if we could still go on, but through determination and hard work, we reached this day. Today is a moment our families are deeply proud of, and we feel their love more than ever. This marks the beginning of our turn to support our parents and repay all their sacrifices and hard work.

To everyone who played a role in our journey, big or small, thank you. Your support, encouragement, and love brought me to this moment. we will forever be grateful for the part you played in our lives, and we hope to make you proud.

We learned how to navigate challenges, overcome obstacles, and pursue our dreams. We are thankful for the lessons we learned, knowing they will guide us in the years to come. As we begin this new journey, we will face new challenges and opportunities. We will meet people who inspired us and people who challenged us—but we know we are ready. We have come this far, and we are prepared for the next chapter. Let us take the lessons, experiences, and friendships we gained and use them to make a positive change in the world.

𝗪𝗮𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲, 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗛𝗼𝗽𝗲

Born from the tides of tragedy and triumph, this national costume embodies the story of Tacloban City after the fury of Super Typhoon Yolanda, known to the world as Typhoon Haiyan. The headpiece swirls like the storm’s unblinking eye, crowned with flashes of lightning, while crystal raindrops fall upon the shoulders—echoes of a day the city will never forget. Fractured patterns across the bodice mirror shattered homes and broken horizons.

From the hem rise sculpted waves, fierce yet graceful, carrying within them the solemn image of the MV Eva Jocelyn. Once a humble vessel of the sea, it was thrust ashore by unimaginable force—now immortalized as a symbol of how high the waters rose and how deep the wounds ran. In this design, it no longer drifts in ruin, but stands as a quiet sentinel of memory and resilience.

Yet this is not a costume of sorrow alone. It is a crescendo of courage. The surging waves move forward, just as the people did—rebuilding, rising, reclaiming their light. More than remembrance, it is a declaration that Tacloban City remains steadfast—a City of Hope, unshaken in spirit, undefeated in heart.
