In support of the Department of Health’s call for the Celebration of the 50th World Immunization Week last April 24-30, 2026 with the theme “Bakuna at Proteksyon ni Baby, My Responsibility”, RHU–Las Navas (Las Navas Northern Samar) proudly joins the global call to protect every life through vaccines.

We brought this important campaign closer to our communities by reaching the Barangay Level, ensuring that no one is left behind in the journey toward a healthier and safer Las Navas.

"Strengthening community nutrition services through capacity development."

The Basic Course Training for the Barangay Nutrition Scholars was successfully conducted on April 20–23, 2026 at Nana’s Integrated Farm, Las Navas, Northern Samar, with 40 participants in attendance. The activity aimed to enhance the knowledge, skills, and competencies of Barangay Nutrition Scholars in the effective delivery of nutrition and health services within their respective communities.

In line with the observance of World Health Worker Week, this undertaking likewise recognizes the dedication and invaluable contributions of Barangay Nutrition Scholars and community health workers in promoting the health and well-being of families and communities.

The Rural Health Unit- Las Navas extends its sincere appreciation to the Resource Speakers from the National Nutrition Council Region VIII: Mr. Rustle King Embodo, RND and Mr. Ernest Dimakiling, as well as Ms. Hannah Abegail Jumadiao Bautista, RND, Provincial Nutrition Action Officer from the Provincial Health Office, for sharing their expertise and valuable insights during the training.

This activity was funded through the Philippine Multisectoral Nutrition Project and spearheaded by Mr. Danilo L, Dulay Boboy L. Dulay, Municipal Nutrition Action Officer.

Through collaborative efforts and continuous capacity-building initiatives, the Municipality remains committed to advancing nutrition programs and fostering healthier communities.

“Learning Today, Saving Lives Tomorrow! Cheers to our Newly Trained Barangay Health Workers, Ready to make a Difference in every Home!”

A Barangay Health Workers Basic Training Course was successfully conducted by the Rural Health Unit (RHU) of Las Navas, in cooperation with Philippine Multisectoral Nutrition Project (PMNP) last April 14-16, 2026 at Nana’s Integrated Farm. The Training marks another milestone in our shared commitment to accessible and quality healthcare for all. This training has equipped our dedicated Barangay Health Workers with essential knowledge and skills to better serve their communities with competence, compassion and confidence.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our esteemed Resource Speakers who generously shared their expertise, time and passion. Thank You so Much Ma’am Jeaniesan Olimba, Ma’am Shirly Alba, Ma’am Jessica Tepace, Ma’am Hannah Abegail Bautista, Ma’am Judith Olmedo and Ma’am Naomi Mercader. Your invaluable contributions have inspired and empowered our BHWs to become more effective health advocates at the grassroots level.

We also extend our sincere appreciation to all our Facilitators for sharing their expertise and guiding our participants throughout the training, your dedication has truly made a difference. Our heartfelt thanks as well to our Rural Health Unit (RHU) Heads for their leadership, support and continued commitment to strengthening our local health system. The “Idol Ko si Nanay” Training of Trainers for Health Workers, held last April 6–10, 2026 at Villa Cruz Nature’s Resort, was a meaningful journey of learning, collaboration, and inspiration.

Our dedicated health workers came together to deepen their knowledge, enhance their skills, and reaffirm their commitment to championing maternal and child health in our communities. 🌿✨

Through shared experiences and valuable insights, we continue to build a stronger network of advocates who truly embody the spirit of “Idol Ko si Nanay” - caring, empowering, and leading with compassion.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF RHU BIRTHING FACILITY

This is to inform the public that the RHU Las Navas Birthing Facility will be temporarily closed from April 6 to April 10, 2026 to allow health personnel to attend the mandatory “Idol Ko si Nanay” Training of Trainers for Health Workers.

To ensure uninterrupted delivery of maternal and newborn health services, coordination has been established with the following facilities:

• RHU Catubig
• Catubig District Hospital

All expectant mothers are advised to proceed to the above-mentioned facilities for assistance during the said period.
