Putty Master VS Skimcoat

A putty is for filling while skim coat is for smoothing.

A putty (masilya) is used for non-structural filling, leveling, patching, and repair jobs on wood, concrete, gypsum board, fiber cement, and fiber boards. It is usually applied to fill and repair surface imperfections and voids with a depth more than 4mm.

On the other hand, skim coats (thin plaster) are used for smoothing walls in preparation for paint. Skim coats can only be applied with a thickness of 4mm; applying more than this will result in cracking or powdery skim coat.

Buildrite Putty Master is a ready-to-use, multi-purpose joint filler and putty. It can be applied up to 5mm and reapplied to achieve a thicker finish. Putty Master can also be used for filling dents, holes, and knots on wood and similar substrates.
