Recognizing the initiatives and dedication to serve, and passion to work for the University and its clients...the NSTP Office, both in the University and Campus Level received Plaque and Certificate of Recognition during the 1st Celebration of the 202nd Community Defense Center Anniversary held on February 6, 2025 at TAPS, Inc, Raxas Isabela.

Special thanks to the Campus NSTP Directors and ROTC Coordinators of ISU Activated ROTC Units for the unwaivering commitment: fostering the ROTC implementation, thereby developing future leaders and strong community in the preservation of nationalism and patriotism, service, integrity and honor.

The University NSTP Office attended the Pinning of Ranks for MS 31 and 41; the promotion of Advance ROTC Officers of Isabela State University Cauayan Campus. The activity was graced by the CDC Director: Col Mike Aquino as the Keynote Speaker, Dr. Harvey Alejandro, the Campus NSTP Director with Dr. Nissan Ramirez and Dr. Jojo Bautista being the ROTC Coordinator and Implementer respectively.

Among others are the Campus NSTP Dir of San Mateo Campus, Mr. Noel Damian and his ROTC Coordinator, and the ROTC Coordinator of Isabela Colleges Foundation. In his message, Col Aquino highlighted key areas of leadership and the role of the newly promoted ROTC Officers in Youth Empowerment and Social Responsiveness.

United in one vision, Dr. Aquim D. Verzon, the University NSTP Director presented and discussed with Col Aquino open opportunities to ROTC Innovations and Goal-oriented Implementation.

The activity was held successfully, with the organized ISU ROTC Band performing songs to entertain the parents and guardians who are present. Socialization followed to boost the morale of the Officers.

The University NSTP Office under the supervision of Dr. Aquim Dumlao Verzon and with the guidance of the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Prof Boyet L. Batang, launches its Capability Training to the Student Volunteers under its project: MY DREAM - Managing a Youth Disaster risk Reduction and Emergency Advance team and Managers.

DREAM Capability Training: An Approach to Establishing Barangay-based Youth Volunteers was conducted at ISU Cauayan being the Pilot Campus, under the leadership of Dr. Harvey Alejandro, the Campus NSTP Director. This program under the Project "MY DREAM" was a collegial vision of the NSTP Campus Directors/Coordinators across all campuses comprising the Isabela State University, aiming to bring it's NSTP Students in the community and establish a pool of volunteers equipped with knowledge and skills to practically manage impacts of disasters and efficiently respond at times of emergency.

In partnership with the City Government of Cauayan, through its Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council, the NSTP Office organized a series of 3 phases of Capability Training on Disaster Management and Emergency Response, which among others are Basic Life Support and First Aid Administration (1st Phase); Earthquake and Fire Incident response, and Water Survival (2nd Phase); and Leadership, and Team Building & Management (3rd Phase).

The "MY DREAM" Project is purposely to create a pool of Young Volunteers and Junior Medics in all adopted Barangay and community of Isabela State University as ready reserved responders and first aiders in assistance to Barangay Disaster Management Council.

Meanwhile, the DREAM - Disaster risks Reduction and Emergency Advance team and Managers, as recognized students organization at ISU Cauayan campus, is an active responder and instrumentality of the Campus Health Services Offices during emergency situations and incidents needing the administration of first aid and basic health attention.

The University NSTP Office holds its Management Review: an approach to unify NSTP projects, programs, and activities across ISU Campuses, and to introduce innovations to facilitate NSTP Implementations and compliances.

Hosted by ISU Jones Campus led by its Campus Administrator, Prof. Edgardo B. Sario, the meeting successfully came up with a year-round Program of Activities (POA) with its Classroom Instruction Programs (CIP 10.5) and Operations and Plans (OPLAN 5.5); structured School-based National Service Reserved Corps (SBNSRC); Module and Community Immersion Framework; and Digitalization of NSTP Reports and Instruction (NSTP-RIMS).

Gathered as one body, unified in one mind and vision, the Campus NSTP Directors and Component Coordinators, with the presence of 202RCDG, CDC Director, Col Mike Aquino and his training staff, look forward to conduct extension activities, research, and collaborative NSTP Implementation with other educational institutions, government units and even with private sectors.

The meeting ended with the inspiring committed support and words of enlightenment from the University Vice President for Academic Affairs, Prof Boyet L. Batang. Way forward to NSTP Innovations, the University NSTP Director, Dr. Aquim D. Verzon, eyed into strengthening community-based and SDG-aligned NSTP Projects and Activities applicable across NSTP Components: Civic Welfare Training Service (CWTS), Literacy Training Services (LTS), and Reserve Officer Training Course (ROTC).

The University NSTP Office just concluded a consultative meeting with the 2RCDG-CDC Director, Col Mike Aquino and Campus Academic Affairs Director, Prof. Marisol Foronda for the expansion of NSTP-ROTC Programs.

With the Campus NSTP Dir. Dr. Harvey Alejandro, and ROTC Coordinator, Dr. Nissan Ramirez, the meeting arrived at innovating ROTC implementation; bringing the cadets and cadettes into a more community-social responsive youths as they promote the core agenda of the course.

Dr. Foronda, as she aimed at empowering the ROTC cadets and cadettes through an academic organization, Col Aquino emphasized the role of the youth as an indespensable instrument of "leadership".

Further, Dr. Teresita Molano, the Campus External Linkages Director, pinned the possibility of ROTC Exposure and involvement to all school and community-based programs and activities. Along with this passive idea is the proposal of Dr. Ramirez to create a Campus-based Command System which will cater its internal security along with the Campus Junior Medics (Disaster risk Reduction and Emergency Advance team and Managers - DREAM) to respond in emergency situations.

The meeting ended with a commitment by Dr. Aquim Verzon, the University Director for NSTP to ensure "response-ability" of the ROTC Cadets and Cadettes within the perspectives of Youth Servant-Leadership, Community Engagements, and Skills Development.

The University NSTP Office just entered Extension Programs under MY DREAM (Managing a Youth Disaster risk Reduction and Emergency Advance Team and Managers) Project. Dr. Aquim Verzon, the University Director for NSTP with Dr. Nancy De Leon, Campus Extension Director of ISU Cauayan Campus made necessary modification of the Extension Proposal for presentation on September 19, 2024.

On the same day, the Explosive and Ordnance Division - Bomb Squad of Isabela coordinated to the NSTP Office with Dr. Harvey Alejandro as the Campus Director for a partnership: ensuring safety and order within the school premises under Bomb Threat Awareness activity of the said Office. This activity is another approach to empowering the NSTP students: capacitating them with knowledge and skills to respond at times of Disaster and Emergency. Lecture and Simulation Exercise are set on September 28, 2024 of which students enrolled in NSTP with their respective Implementers are the participants.

The General Services Office under the supervision of Asso Prof Armald Marcos is among the offices to organize the Simulation Exercise. Formal communication and widest orientation will follow.

The University NSTP Office engaged in another consultation and coordination meeting with the enthusiast ISU-NSTP Servant Leaders and DRRMC.

Aiming for a more organized implementation of an objective and outcome-based NSTP Implementation, the University Director conducted consultative meetings with the NSTP Campus Directors of Raxas and Ilagan Campus in the person of Dr. Arvin Palapus and Dr. Allen Alejandro respectively. With the presence of the Component Coordinators and Implementers, flexible yet productive approaches have been presented and discussed to ensure attainment of NSTP goals and objectives.

Establishing the National Service Reserve Corps of the University (NSRC), Dr. Aquim Verzon and Dr. Harvey Alejandro, the Campus NSTP Director of Cauayan met with Ms. Marjorie Domingo and the whole Training Team of Cauayan City Disaster Risk Reeducation Management Council (CCDRRMC) to discuss the formal training of the Campus Junior Medics and Volunteers. The meeting ended with a proposed partnership between ISU and CCDRRMC to address the demand of volunteers and first aiders. Formalities are ensured to follow.

The University NSTP Office participated in the simultaneous Blood Donation Nationwide in celebration of the National Heroes Day!

After a series of coordination and consultative meetings, the University NSTP Office has made another face of public service in partnership with the 2RCDG-CDC and Red Cross Isabela.

Along with the planning and ensuring the success of the activity are the Office of the University Student Services, headed by Engr. Edmundo Obinia, CDC-ROTC headed by its Director, Col. Mike Aquino, and University NSTP led by Dr. Aquim Verzon.

Campus NSTP Directors were also present and extended their services during the activity. Among others were Dr. Harvey Alejandro of Cauayan Campus, Dr. Gilbert Eutaqio of Echague Campus, Dr. Allen Allen Alejandro of Ilagan Campus, Assistant Prof. Alvaro Valencia of Cabagan Campus, Dr. Arvin Palapus of Roxas Campus, and Dr. Restituto Miguel of Angadanan Campus.

The Nationwide Blood Donation activity which was held on August 25, 2024 was participated by the NSTP-ROTC students and Campus Junior Medics and Volunteers (under the supervision and direction of the NSTP Office), Rotary Club International, Isabela Reservists, RESCUE 922, NSTP Coordinators and Implementers, and Medical Personnel of ISU Cauayan, Ilagan, Echague, and Cabagan Campus.

The University NSTP Office (UNO) holds a meeting with Dr. Restituto Miguel, NSTP Director of ISU Angadanan Campus and Mr. Noel Damian, NSTP Director of ISU San Mateo Campus with the Component Coordinators and Implementers.

Dr. Aquim Verzon, University Director for NSTP discussed the NSTP Module Framework for compliance and implementation for the current semester of the school year. Further, the Campus-based National Service Reserved Command (SBNSRC) structure was presented to empower the NSTP Graduates as they engage in volunteerism and community service.

Among others, the meeting had resulted in a more comprehensive NSTP implementation aligned with the vision and mission of the University, guided by sustainable development goals.
