Because UV radiation carries high energy. Sunlight includes UVA and UVB rays:
• UVB causes sunburn.
• UVA penetrates deeper, contributing to skin aging

These rays are powerful enough to damage your skin cells and break DNA bonds, triggering inflammation—what we experience as sunburn.

That’s why protection matters. To reduce the harmful effects of UV radiation, apply sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher, seek shade, and wear protective clothing—simple yet effective steps that significantly reduce exposure to both UVA and UVB rays.

As the season heats up, so should our awareness. Staying informed helps us stay safe, hydrated, and resilient.

Inihayag ng DOST-PAGASA na itinaas na nito ang ENSO Alert and Warning System sa El Niño Watch, kasunod ng pagtaas ng posibilidad na mabuo ang El Niño sa mga susunod na buwan.

Ayon sa ahensya, nananatili pa ring ENSO-neutral ang kasalukuyang kondisyon, ngunit patuloy na binabantayan ang pag-init ng karagatang Pasipiko na maaaring magdulot ng El Niño.

Mga Posibleng Epekto:

* Mas kaunting ulan at mas tuyong kondisyon sa ilang bahagi ng bansa.
* Posibleng epekto sa agrikultura at suplay ng tubig.
* Sa kabila nito, maaari pa ring makaranas ng above-normal rainfall sa kanlurang bahagi ng bansa lalo na sa panahon ng .

Pinapayuhan ng PAGASA ang publiko at mga kinauukulang ahensya na maghanda at manatiling updated sa mga susunod na abiso upang mabawasan ang posibleng epekto ng El Niño.
