True community development begins at the grassroots level. Over the past few weeks, the Bachelor of Science in Community Development (BSCD) 3rd-year students successfully implemented a seminar series on Proper Waste Management and Sustainability across different communities.

Grounded in participatory development frameworks, these student-led initiatives prove that communication is more than just sharing information—it is a vital tool for behavioral and social change. By translating complex environmental concepts into localized, culturally relevant dialogue, our students successfully engaged local residents and barangay officials in critical discussions regarding material recovery strategies, environmental stewardship, and sustainable waste disposal practices. From localized messaging to collaborative storytelling, these seminars bridged the gap between academic theory and community action.
