𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗗 | 23rd Week Flag Raising Ceremony Highlights Freedom and Workplace Excellence
HIMAMAYLAN CITY, June 15, 2026 – The Schools Division Office of Himamaylan City successfully conducted its 23rd Week Flag Raising Ceremony, hosted by the Social Mobilization and Networking (SMN) and Human Resource Development (HRD) units of the School Governance and Operations Division (SGOD).
The ceremony was spearheaded by Ma'am Yanna L. Abarquez, Ma'am Jema Macky Matutina, Sir Francis Drake C. Tamba, and Sir Mark Lloyd M. Coloma, together with the dedicated personnel who worked behind the scenes to ensure the smooth and meaningful conduct of the program.
As part of the Workplace Spirituality Program, Sir Mark Lloyd M. Coloma served as the speaker and reader, sharing valuable insights on the value focus for the week, Freedom. His message encouraged personnel to reflect on the significance of freedom as a guiding principle in carrying out their duties with responsibility, integrity, and dedication to public service.
The ceremony also recognized exemplary personnel through the On-the-Spot Awards. Sir Aurelio Barrios received the Early Bird Award and was also recognized as one of the recipients of the Best in DepEd Uniform Award alongside Ma'am Kristine Cortez. Meanwhile, Sir Mark Lloyd M. Coloma was named the Ray of Sunshine Awardee for his positive spirit and meaningful contributions to the workplace.
The weekly gathering continued to strengthen camaraderie, reinforce organizational values, and inspire personnel to uphold excellence in service as they work together in advancing quality education for every learner.

𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗗 | Learners Undergo Health Assessment and Screening at Casipungan Elementary School
HIMAMAYLAN CITY, June 10, 2026 – The School Health and Nutrition Unit (SHNU) of the School Governance and Operations Division (SGOD) conducted the Mandatory Learners’ Health Assessment and Screening (LHAS) for all learners of Casipungan Elementary School as part of its continuing efforts to promote learner health and well-being.
The activity was spearheaded by Doc. Sheila Mee Paraguya and Nurse Lynee Ann Ferrer, with the assistance of Nurse Hadja Queen Chua, Nurse Melquiades Vallega, and Christian Clark Coruña. Through their collective efforts, learners underwent essential health assessments aimed at determining their physical condition and identifying health concerns that may require immediate attention, intervention, or referral.
The screening process provided valuable health information that will guide appropriate support services and interventions, ensuring that learners are physically prepared and healthy as they continue their educational journey.
The conduct of the Learners’ Health Assessment and Screening highlights the Department of Education’s commitment to fostering a safe, healthy, and learner-centered environment where every child is given the opportunity to thrive and achieve their full potential.

HIMAMAYLAN CITY, June 11, 2026 – The Schools Division Office of Himamaylan City proudly commemorated its 9th Founding Anniversary at the SDO Building, marking nearly a decade of dedicated service, meaningful accomplishments, and transformative initiatives in the field of education.
Anchored on the theme, “Kalayaan at Kaunlaran: Ika-9 na Taong Paglilingkod at Pagbabago,” the celebration highlighted the division's continuous journey toward excellence and its unwavering commitment to providing quality, accessible, and inclusive education for all learners.
The occasion served as a reflection on nine years of growth, innovation, and collaborative efforts among education leaders, teaching and non-teaching personnel, stakeholders, and community partners who have contributed significantly to the development and success of the Schools Division Office.

𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗗 | SDO Himamaylan Joins 22nd Environment Week Clean-Up Drive for a Greener Future
HIMAMAYLAN CITY, June 9, 2026 – In support of the celebration of the 22nd Environment Week pursuant to City Ordinance No. 2006-13, personnel of the Schools Division Office of Himamaylan City actively participated in the simultaneous clean-up activity conducted along major roads and highways within the city.
Anchored on the theme, “Inspired by Nature for Climate Change for our Future,” the activity highlighted the importance of environmental stewardship and collective action in addressing climate change and promoting sustainable practices within the community.
Division-based personnel joined the clean-up drive from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m., demonstrating their commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and healthy environment. The activity also supported the city's environmental campaign, “Sa Aton Basura, May Responsibilidad Ta,” which encourages every citizen to take responsibility for proper waste management and environmental conservation.
Through this initiative, the Schools Division Office reaffirmed its dedication to promoting environmental awareness and fostering a culture of shared responsibility among educators, learners, and stakeholders toward building a more sustainable future for generations to come.

𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗗 | Oath Taking Ceremony Marks New Milestone for Newly Promoted Teacher III Personnel
HIMAMAYLAN CITY, June 8, 2026 – The Schools Division Office of Himamaylan City conducted the oath-taking ceremony for newly promoted Teacher III personnel at the Office of the Schools Division Superintendent, recognizing another milestone in the professional growth and career advancement of its educators.
The ceremony was led by OIC Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Lynee A. Peñaflor, with the presence and support of OIC Assistant Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Eiggy D. Yap, Administrative Officer V Rizalde Servano, and Administrative Officer IV Angielee Gumata, whose guidance and commitment continue to strengthen human resource development within the division.
The oath-taking formally recognized the promotion of Ma'am Vangie Mejorada Villacanas from the Elementary level and Sir Kenneth Bacala from the Senior High School level. HIMAMAYLAN CITY, June 4, 2026 – The Schools Division Office of Himamaylan City successfully conducted the Oath Taking Ceremony of Newly Promoted Teaching Personnel at the Division Office, Brgy. Caradio-an, Himamaylan City, recognizing the dedication, competence, and exemplary service of educators who have earned advancement in their respective careers.
Led by OIC Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Lynee A. Peñaflor, the ceremony formally inducted twenty-seven (27) newly promoted teachers from various elementary and secondary schools across the Division. The event was also graced by OIC Assistant Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Eiggy D. Yap, who delivered an inspiring message encouraging the promotees to embrace their new responsibilities with integrity, commitment, and excellence in service.
Also present during the ceremony was Ma’am Angielee G. Gumata, Administrative Officer IV of the Human Resource Section, who facilitated the proceedings and reaffirmed the Division's commitment to supporting the professional growth and development of its personnel.

𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗗 | SDO Himamaylan Officially Kicked Off Brigada Eskwela 2026 at Aguisan Elementary School
HIMAMAYLAN CITY, June 1, 2026 – The Schools Division Office of Himamaylan City formally kicked off Brigada Eskwela 2026 at Aguisan Elementary School through a meaningful gathering of education leaders, local officials, partners, stakeholders, volunteers, parents, and community members united for the continuous improvement of public schools and learner welfare.
The program opened with the singing of the National Anthem, prayers, Regional Hymn, and Division Hymn, followed by vibrant performances from the Mamalan Chorale and the Brgy. Aguisan Festival Dancers which added energy and excitement to the celebration.
In his welcome remarks, Principal I Romel C. Madera warmly welcomed all participants and expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support extended to the school and to the Brigada Eskwela program. Inspirational messages were also delivered by OIC-Assistant Schools Division Superintendent Eiggy D. Yap, PhD, and OIC-Schools Division Superintendent Lynee A. Peñaflor, PhD, emphasizing the importance of bayanihan, volunteerism, and collective responsibility in ensuring safe, inclusive, and learner-friendly schools.
The activity became even more significant through the keynote message of Hon. Rogelio Raymund I. Tongson Jr., City Mayor of Himamaylan City, delivered on his behalf by Hon. Teresita A. Gamposilao, SP Member, who conveyed the City Government’s unwavering support to the education sector and encouraged the community to continue working hand in hand for the success of every learner.
Messages of support were also shared by various education and community partners including Ronald F. Trinio, CFPTA President; Ian John Jamili, Marketing Representative of SM City Bacolod; Hon. Teresita A. Gamposilao, SP Member; Hon. Justin Dominic S. Gatuslao, City Vice Mayor of Himamaylan City; and Hon. Hadji P. Trojillo, Board Member, highlighting the strong collaboration among stakeholders in supporting quality education.
One of the highlights of the activity was the turn-over of donations and resources from DepEd partners and stakeholders, followed by the ceremonial signing of the Pledge of Commitment participated in by DepEd personnel, partners, and guests as a symbol of unity and dedication toward the goals of Brigada Eskwela 2026.
The celebration concluded with volunteer activities including a clean-up drive and tree planting activity, reflecting the shared commitment of the community in creating safe, clean, and environment-friendly learning spaces for all learners.
The successful conduct of the Brigada Eskwela 2026 Kick-Off once again showcased the spirit of bayanihan and strengthened the partnership between DepEd and the community in building better schools and brighter futures for every child.

HIMAMAYLAN CITY, May 19, 2026 – The Schools Division Office of Himamaylan City successfully conducted the Division Convergence on Multi-Sectoral Partnership Engagement at Himaya Hall, New Himamaylan City Hall, carrying the meaningful theme, “Paghinun-anon Para sa Kalidad nga Edukasyon.”
The activity gathered education leaders, local government units, private sector representatives, non-government organizations, and various stakeholders in a unified effort to strengthen partnerships and collaborative initiatives in support of quality and inclusive education for all learners.
The convergence served as an important platform to address issues and concerns relative to the implementation of Programs, Projects, and Activities (PPAs), particularly those connected to curriculum delivery and the provision of basic educational services to learners across the Division.
One of the highlights of the activity was the keynote message delivered by Sir Ian John Jamili, Marketing Representative of SM Bacolod City, who shared valuable insights on the importance of collaboration, community engagement, and collective responsibility in supporting educational development and learner success.
Through productive discussions and meaningful dialogue, participants reinforced their commitment to strengthening collaboration among DepEd, LGUs, private institutions, NGOs, and community partners to further improve educational access, delivery, and learner support systems.

HIMAMAYLAN CITY, May 18, 2026 – The Schools Division Office of Himamaylan City successfully conducted its Flag Raising Ceremony hosted by the SGOD–SHNU and PDO II Sections, gathering teaching and non-teaching personnel in a meaningful celebration of values, recognition, and professional growth.
Serving as the Value Focus Speaker, Engineer Edmund Rosal Jr. delivered an inspiring message centered on “Forgiveness,” emphasizing the importance of understanding, humility, and compassion in fostering harmonious relationships and a positive working environment within the organization.
As part of the ceremony, the Human Resource Development (HRD) Section facilitated the On-the-Spot Awards to recognize outstanding personnel who consistently exemplified dedication and excellence in service.
The Early Bird Awards were conferred to Ma’am Marigold Montecastro and Sir Jilson Vallejera for their punctuality and commitment to workplace discipline.
