BJS Foundation
Throwback Friday | Action through Passion
Last November 2024, even before BJS Foundation was officially formed, four of our pioneer members came together to extend help to evacuees in Bago City affected by the Mt. Kanlaon eruption. With homes covered in ashfall, many families were forced to evacuate, leaving behind valuables and non-essentials, choosing instead to protect what mattered most: their loved ones and their health.
With simple means but sincere hearts, our team personally cooked arroz caldo and brought hot pandesal to the evacuation center. It may not have been much, but it was enough to bring warmth and comfort, especially to the children and elderly, ensuring that even for a moment, their tummies were full and cared for.
This moment reminds us that service doesn’t begin with an organization—it begins with compassion. In times of crisis, a heart for the community brings people together, proving that even the smallest acts of kindness can help rebuild hope, one meal at a time.
