The saying "Au Revoir" unlike the infamous "Adieu" is inherently optimistic, for it is a combination of Au, meaning to the, and revoir, signifying seeing once again. It means that our separation will pass, and we will soon meet again. It serves more than just a goodbye, its a promise.

To the books we swore we'd have finished, the lessons not quite yet learned, and the hardships to be thrown our way, Au Revoir.
