As dusk dawned on Taft Avenue, sounds of gleeful cheer and sights of vibrant handmade lanterns filled the otherwise busy streets, radiating a much-needed glimpse of the Christmas spirit. University of the Philippines Manila (UPM) students, faculty, and staff alike gather to celebrate one of the most anticipated events of the year, a tradition that never fails to ignite warmth and belongingness in the hearts of the community– the 2025 Lantern Parade. For one special night, the campus closes its halls and celebrates the culmination of the year, under the tender glow of lanterns and the nostalgic noise of familiar chatter. With the theme “Pasko sa UP Manila: Patuloy na Nagmamahal, Lumalaban, at Nagwawagi,” students, faculty, and staff alike of the UP College of Nursing wish to encapsulate the year that has been–a journey filled with hearts that yearn, struggle, and learn as they charge forth in life’s daunting challenges.
