June 15, 2026 | Earlier today, the Local School Board convened for the 2nd Quarter Meeting at the SB Session Hall, presided over by Mayor Milliard S. Villanueva.

During the meeting, members discussed key updates and reports concerning the education sector and the utilization of resources to support local schools. Among the matters presented were the DepEd Report, Fund Utilization Report, Physical Accomplishment Report, and the Status of SEF Collection. Other relevant concerns and initiatives were also taken up to further strengthen educational programs and services in the municipality.

The meeting served as an important platform for reviewing accomplishments, assessing ongoing efforts, and ensuring that educational funds and resources are effectively managed for the benefit of learners, teachers, and schools in the community.

This recognition signifies that the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Concepcion has successfully met the following requirements:

▫️ Received an Unmodified or Qualified Opinion from the Commission on Audit (COA), based on the most recent Annual Audit Report (AAR) posted on the COA website; and

▫️ Complied with the Full Disclosure Policy (FDP) requirements by ensuring the timely and complete posting of required financial documents in three (3) conspicuous places and in the FDP Portal from the 2nd to 4th quarters of CY 2024 and the 1st quarter of CY 2025, based on data provided by the FDP Central Team of the BLGS-PCMD.

𝟭𝟮𝟴𝘁𝗵 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 🇵🇭

June 12, 2026 | The Municipality of Concepcion proudly joined the nation in commemorating the 128th Philippine Independence Day, a day that reminds us of the courage, sacrifices, and patriotism of the Filipinos who fought for our freedom.

The celebration began with a foot parade participated in by employees of the Local Government Unit of Concepcion, members of the academe, barangay officials, civil society organizations, and other stakeholders. It was followed by a meaningful program held at the Municipal Auditorium in the presence of Mayor Milliard S. Villanueva, Vice Mayor Jovelyn O. Estrada, and the Members of the Sangguniang Bayan.

Adding depth to the celebration was the presence of Mr. Jose Nerio C. Lujan, EnP, Chief of the Public Information and Community Affairs Office of the Province of Iloilo, who served as the Guest Speaker. Through his message, he shared valuable insights into the historical background of the Municipality of Concepcion, reminding everyone of the stories and our identity as Filipinos.

As we celebrate this important day, may we continue to honor the legacy of our heroes, not only by remembering their sacrifices, but also by doing our part in building a community rooted in love for country, respect for one another, and hope for future generations.

The program was spearheaded by the Human Resource Management Office (HRMO).

June 10, 2026 | Deputy Provincial Director for Administration PLT Col. Remie Abong Alavaren, together with Concepcion Chief of Police John Oro, paid a courtesy visit to Local Chief Executive Mayor Milliard Villanueva to discuss matters concerning law enforcement, public safety, and ongoing police operations within the community.

The meeting served as an opportunity to strengthen collaboration between the Philippine National Police and the local government in promoting peace, order, and security.

June 10, 2026 | Thirty-two (32) beneficiaries from the Alternative Learning System (ALS) in the Municipality of Concepcion received their Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) grants through a collaborative effort of the Local Government Unit of Concepcion, Cebuana Lhuillier Foundation, Inc., and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

The grant distribution marked another step in supporting ALS learners as they work toward improving their livelihoods and creating better opportunities for themselves and their families. Through this assistance, beneficiaries are provided with additional resources that can help them pursue income-generating activities and strengthen their economic stability.

Following the release of the grants, representatives from Cebuana Lhuillier Foundation, Inc. met with Municipal Mayor Milliard S. Villanueva and the DSWD team for a coordination meeting. The discussion focused on program updates, accomplishments, current challenges, action plans, and the next steps to further enhance the implementation of livelihood initiatives in the municipality.

The meeting also provided an opportunity for partners to exchange insights, address concerns, and identify ways to strengthen collaboration in delivering programs that respond to the needs of the community.
