[๐‰๐”๐’๐“ ๐‡๐€๐๐๐„๐๐„๐ƒ] The Regional Ethics Monitoring Board XI (REMB XI) invited the Davao de Oro State College (DDOSC), through Dr. Lilybeth M. Matunhay, to participate in a short virtual meeting held on March 17, 2026, via Google Meet. The meeting aimed to facilitate knowledge-sharing on the notable practices of DDOSC, particularly its financial system in securing Commission on Higher Education (CHED) funding support for research ethics review fees.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Alvin S. Co**ha, REMB XI Chairperson; Dr. Lucila T. Lupo, REMB XI Vice-Chairperson; Dr. Liza Cruda-Suan, CHEDRO XI Education Supervisor II; Dr. Lilybeth M. Matunhay, DDOSC President; and Dr. Juanita C. Leopoldo, DDOSC-REC Chairperson.

During the discussion, Dr. Matunhay shared the Collegeโ€™s experiences and processes in successfully securing CHED funding support for research ethics review fees, particularly for all institutional student research undertakings. She highlighted the strategies and mechanisms that ensure sustainability and accessibility of ethics review services for students.

Dr. Matunhay further expressed DDOSCโ€™s full support for REMB's initiative, reaffirming the institutionโ€™s commitment to advancing and promoting ethical research practices among higher education institutions.

[๐—”๐——๐—ฉ๐—œ๐—ฆ๐—ข๐—ฅ๐—ฌ] In reference to OSUCP Advisory No. 1012-01, s. 2025, dated October 12, 2025, Davao de Oro State College announces the implementation of a Work-from-Home (WFH) arrangement for the Main Campus and its Branches, effective October 13, 2025, Monday, until further notice.

This precautionary measure is issued in view of the recent earthquake and the continued occurrence of aftershocks, and is intended to ensure the safety and well-being of all faculty, staff, and students.

During this period, all classes at both Main Campus and its Branches shall adopt Online Flexible Teaching and Learning Modalities.

Faculty members are encouraged to refrain from conducting any on-site activities while the WFH arrangement is in effect.

Likewise, all faculty and administrative personnel are expected to remain reachable during official work hours unless on approved leave or absence submitted prior to the implementation of the WFH arrangement.

Those who need to enter the campus for valid reasons must first secure approval from their immediate supervisor for monitoring and safety purposes.

Everyone is reminded to stay calm, remain alert, and continue to monitor official DDOSC updates for further announcements.

Promoting integrity and responsibility in academic research, the Davao de Oro State College (DDOSC) Research Ethics Committee (REC) conducted a Research Ethics Orientation on October 9, 2025, at the DDOSC Main Campus Activity Center, gathering third and fourth-year students from the Teacher Education, Criminology, Agriculture, and Entrepreneurship Departments.

The orientation aimed to inform student researchers about ethical standards, review processes, and submission protocols required in conducting research within the institution.

Dr. Juanita C. Leopoldo, DBA, REC Chair, discussed the fundamentals of the research ethics review, emphasizing the preparation of research protocols and the importance of informed consent in protecting research participants and upholding credibility.

Meanwhile, Mr. Kenny Jim Gambong, REC Staff, explained the Review Process Flow, along with the procedures and requirements for the submission of forms for the certificate of approval.

Through this initiative, the DDOSC Research Ethics Committee reinforced its commitment to cultivating a culture of ethical awareness and academic integrity among student researchers, ensuring that every study conducted within the College adheres to the highest ethical and professional standards.
