With jubilant hearts and boundless gratitude, we unite in celebration of the election of Pope Leo XIV, who once graced our shores as a humble Augustinian priest in Cebu. Now, as he ascends to the papal throne, we are reminded of the divine journey of faith that echoes the spirit of St. James the Great — the patron of pilgrims and the faithful. Just as countless peregrinos tread the sacred path of the Camino de Santiago, so too has our Holy Father walked the path of service, carrying the love of Christ to every corner of the world. Today, we rejoice alongside the vibrant youth of Compostela, Cebu, whose steadfast faith and devotion now find renewed inspiration in our new Pope. May the Holy Spirit empower Pope Leo XIV to lead us with courage, compassion, and the unwavering spirit of a true pilgrim of the Lord. Viva il Papa! Viva Pope Leo XIV!
