Had a conversation with a priest last night about tithes and corruption. I was expecting a real discussion. You know something honest, something reflective. Instead, I got a live demonstration on how to dodge questions while protecting an institution.
Interesting how some people can talk so much about truth, yet get uncomfortable the moment truth starts kicking back. I thought following meant listening, humility, and accountability.
But what I saw was quick judgment, quick defense, and zero willingness to actually engage.
It’s ironic preaching about morality while refusing to confront real issues like corruption. Even more ironic when conversations about giving tithes are easier than conversations about accountability.
If faith only works when nobody questions it, then that’s not faith that’s control. And if your first instinct is to defend the system instead of examining it, then maybe you’re not guiding people you’re just maintaining the illusion that everything is fine.
Respect is earned through honesty, not through titles. I don't want to be part of a system that prioritizes compliance over critical thinking.

1% religious, 99% entitled.
Religious when there’s an audience, rude when no one’s watching.
Loud with quotes and captions, silent when it comes to actual practice.
Quick to demand respect, but allergic to giving it.
Wants everyone to understand their feelings, but other people’s feelings? Optional?
Gets called out—suddenly the victim.
Makes a mistake—can’t say sorry, only excuses.
Hates being judged, yet judges everyone with no hesitation.
Claims humility online, shows arrogance in real life.
Faith in the bio, entitlement in the attitude.
Strong opinions, weak accountability.
Always wants to be right, never wants to be responsible.
Principles change depending on what benefits them.
If things don’t go their way, instant drama.
If life doesn’t adjust for them, suddenly everyone else is the problem.
Morals are flexible, ego is not.
Conscience is quiet—as long as they feel justified.
So don’t tell me you’re righteous
when your ego is bigger than your character.
Don’t tell me you stand for values
when respect only shows up when it’s convenient.
👉 If you’re not offended, this isn’t about you.
👉 If you are offended, don’t argue—reflect.
👉 If you comment angrily, f**k you!!!… you just proved the point. 😌🔥

Smooth Friction
Cebu, Philippines — When Smooth Friction dropped their debut album Oh Yeah! in 2001, the band’s blend of progressive structures, jazzy overtones, and experimental energy didn’t fit into any box. Critics and listeners, unsure how to describe it, jokingly branded the sound as “stupid jazz.”
What started as a critique became a badge of honor—transforming into a unique identity that symbolizes the band’s rebellious spirit, complex artistry, and signature sense of humor. Today, their fans still proudly call them the original Stupid Jazz Band of Cebu.
Over two decades later, Smooth Friction continues to pioneer progressive and experimental music rooted in Cebuano/Visayan culture, blending genres in ways that remain fresh, fearless, and defiantly underground. From stupid jazz to dirty blues identity becoming entrenched now they are also pioneering vocal neo surf punk rock for their upcoming 10th album—proof that music doesn’t have to follow the rules to be unforgettable.
About Smooth Friction
Smooth Friction is a Cebu-based progressive band known for blending jazz, rock, and Visayan influences into a sound that’s proudly underground and proudly unique. With concept albums spanning genres from jazz to pop, alternative rock to dirty blues, novelty to heavy metal, EDM to punk, and their alter-ego project Ismut Priksyun, Smooth Friction has become one of the Philippines’ most versatile and pioneering bands championing the independent/DIY spirit.
By 2003, the song 'Solid ug Lawas' was a surprise hit from 'D 2nd Coming' album that contributed to the rise of Bisrock music and subculture on the following years.
Other notable songs by SF are Never Let You Go, The V Song, Kanimo, Shagit, Botelya (El Salida), Evul, Panyero, and many others from their 100+ original songs to date on all online streaming platforms. Some tracks were also featured on one Filipino major movie, two Independent films, and a motorsport documentary abroad.
This prolific and long running band has the same original lineup since they started making music in 2000 till today. Val Amodia - vocals, Kerryl Demeterio - drums, Xzajyk Caing - guitars, and Heinrich Lezama - bass guitar.
