Case Study by Matter Branding & Design Studio
This brand identity is designed like chainlinks where each element interlocked, each application as strong as the last.
Riift is a Cebu-based streetwear label founded on a single conviction: that Filipino-made doesn't need to apologize for itself. Matter was commissioned to develop the full brand system — strategy, identity, and collateral — with one clear mandate: the work had to hold its ground in a market conditioned to expect otherwise. The process began with strategy. Before any visual decision was made, the studio interrogated the brand's purpose, its audience, and its place in a saturated local scene where credibility is claimed rather than earned. The answer was already there — buried in the local underground. We built from that foundation outward.
The identity takes its material cues from Y2K steel chains — monochromatic silver, worn and unyielding.
A visual language that translates the precision and weight of underground Southeast Asian car culture into a coherent brand system, designed to perform across limited drops and long-term growth equally.

For Cebu Skin Institute, the challenge was balance. How do you signal clinical precision without losing the human touch? Most clinics sell you the "new you." CSI treats the real you.
Our solution lies in the tension between the two. A typographic system that is grounded and authoritative, paired with a palette that breathes warmth. We designed a visual language that translates medical expertise into an inviting experience.
We stripped away the excess to reveal the essential.
A brand built to age as gracefully as the patient it serves.
