TF 500 😭😭

Last night was one of those humbling little reminders of what it means to show up and do the work. ✨

I was invited to play at Arden, a beautiful garden bazaar in a newly developed area, open and almost in the middle of nowhere (roadside siya though). Then, without much warning, the rain came down hard: wind, thunder, lightning, soaked ground, wet cables, and no real shelter except the tents around us.

Operations had to pause. Everyone gathered in the most secure part of the tent while the weather raged around us. It was chaotic for a while, with everyone finding shelter and waiting for the weather to ease.

I was stationed under a large umbrella-canopy attached to a metal post near a tree. When the wind began pulling at it, one of the electricians stayed by my side, holding it steady while supporting the cables and equipment with his other hand. He was completely drenched, but he stayed there to keep the canopy from giving way and to protect me and my guitar as much as he could.

I’ve played through rain in al fresco gigs before, but this one had almost no warning and brought the strongest downpour I’ve experienced so far.

Sometimes, you find yourself in the middle of nowhere, caught in a storm you never saw coming. You pause, adjust, and hold on to what you can.

Grateful that everyone made it through safely, that I was still able to complete two sets.

A Father’s Day bazaar I will definitely remember. Haha! Happy Father's Day to all dads! 🧔🏽‍♂️
