TRUE LOVE NEVER DIES

A netizen spotted this 97-year-old man sifting through the racks at a thrift store in Olongapo City on Wednesday.

At first, uploader Janina Ulanday thought the elderly man was buying clothes for himself but she later saw him in the women’s section.

She approached him and said, “Para po kanino ‘Tay?"

“Para sa babae,” the man replied.

Ulanday asked again, “Pang-regalo po ba?"

After few seconds, the man looked at her as he raised the hanger, “Para sa misis ko. Maganda ba?" the elderly man asked.

“Opo ‘Tay, maganda,” she answered.

He also asked if a woman would like the clothes he chose.

“Hindi pala sayang ‘yung tagal kong naghanap. Para kay misis 'to. Para may pang-alis siya. Salamat ha?" Ulanday quoted the man as saying.

Ulanday thought that Tatay was done looking for a gift for his wife but the old man went to the skirt section to match with the blouse he chose.

“Nung nakita ko siya, wala na, hindi na ako naghanap ng bibilhin ko. Sinundan ko na lang po siya kasi nakakatuwa talaga eh. Talagang binubusisi niyang mabuti ‘yung mga damit. Kinakapa niya ‘yung mga tela kung okay po na bilhin niya,” Ulanday said.

“Narealize ko na love has no age. Love is the root of all happiness… Na hindi presyo ang magpapasaya sa tao dahil ang tunay na kasiyahan ay ang kasiyahang hindi nahahawakan bagkus ay nararamdaman,” she said. (Photos courtesy of Janina Ulanday)
