Station 5 took the lead this morning as we hosted the Monday Flag Raising Ceremony at the Cagayan de Oro Fire District (COFD) Grounds. It is always a privilege to stand before our peers and start the week with a commitment to duty, discipline, and the community we serve.

Today, the dedicated personnel of the Macabalan Fire Station led by Station Commander SFO4 Imelda T Barazan, together with SFO1 Marlon Dela Cruz, FO3 Nikko Causin, FO2 Amer Gomampong and FO1 Jude Daayata with the active members of the Barangay Macabalan Community Fire Auxiliary Group (CFAG), hit the ground running for a House-to-House Fire Safety Survey.

Station 5 Macabalan Fire Station, led by SFO4 Imelda T Barazan together with SFO1 Marlon Dela Cruz, FO3 Nikko Causin, FO2 Amer Gomampong, FO1 Karl Christian Pacturan, FO1 Jude Daayata, and FO1 Rey Pacudan Jr., was honored to take part in the Barangay 23 Bucket Relay Competition as judges and facilitators as part of their vibrant 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝘆 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸 𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻!

At 0530H on April 23, 2026, personnel of the Bureau of Fire Protection carried out a clean-up drive at Station 9 Lumbia Fire Station showcasing their dedication to keeping not only lives safe, but surroundings clean and organized.

The said activity was conducted under the leadership of SFO4 Imelda T Barazan, Station Commander of Macabalan Fire Station, with the supervision and guidance of FSUPT CRISTOPHER G REGENCIA and SINSP KEIR L TOMIMBANG.

EL NIÑO ALERT 2026 | Stay Informed. Stay Prepared.

As the country faces a 79% chance of El Niño conditions developing in the coming months, the Bureau of Fire Protection Region 10 urges everyone to remain vigilant and proactive. This weather phenomenon may bring prolonged dry spells, water shortages, increased temperatures, and heightened risk of fire incidents. Understanding its possible impacts is the first step in ensuring the safety of our homes, communities, and environment.

Now more than ever, preparedness is essential. Practice water conservation, avoid activities that may spark fires, and stay updated with official advisories. Let us all work together in minimizing risks and protecting lives and properties. Be mindful, be alert, and be ready—because safety starts with you.

The true spirit of Bayanihan is alive and well in Zone 4, Agusan! 🤝 Seeing the residents come together for this bucket relay is a powerful reminder that when we unite, no task is too difficult. This is the kind of community spirit we need to see everywhere. Let’s make this act of cooperation the standard, not the exception. Our team at Macabalan Fire Station - Engine 15 headed by Station Commander SFO4 Imelda T Barazan together with FO2 Amer Gomampong, FO1 Jude Daayata and FO1John Art Eng was on the ground at North City Central School, providing essential water rationing to the families from St. John Puntod affected by the recent fire.

While the fire is out, our mission to support the community continues. We are standing with our neighbors as they begin to recover and rebuild.

As temperatures soar this season, safety and health remain our top priorities.

The Bureau of Fire Protection Region 10, under the leadership of FCSUPT ROMEL C TRADIO, reminds everyone to stay vigilant and practice fire safety, especially during these extremely hot days. Prolonged heat and dry conditions increase the risk of fire incidents and heat-related illnesses.

Stay hydrated, avoid unnecessary burning, inspect electrical connections, and keep flammable materials away from heat sources. Let us protect not only our properties but also our health.
