Often regarded as one of the most unique and remarkable destinations in Southeast Asia, Davao is a place where modern progress, cultural heritage, and natural beauty exist in harmony. It offers a distinctive perspective on the Philippines—one shaped by diversity, resilience, and a strong sense of identity.

These photographs feature some of Davao's most remarkable destinations, capturing moments, places, and experiences encountered throughout the journey. Beyond the landscapes and landmarks, they offer a glimpse into the atmosphere and character that make every destination memorable in its own way.

More than a collection of destinations, this journey became an opportunity to connect with a place beyond what can be seen at first glance. Through every stop, every view, and every experience along the way, Davao revealed its own story—one shaped by its surroundings, its people, and the moments that quietly define it. Long after the journey ends, it is not only the places that are remembered, but also the experiences, perspectives, and connections formed along the way. Those are the moments that transform a simple visit into a story worth carrying forward.

𝗖𝗮𝗴𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗻 𝗱𝗲 𝗢𝗿𝗼 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 — the City of Golden Friendship, the business hub of Mindanao, and one of the country's most progressive metropolitan centers.

Almost four years ago, I left this city as an ordinary photographer, carrying nothing more than my passion for storytelling and the dreams I hoped to pursue. These photographs bring me back to a time when I would often visit these places, capturing moments and creating memories that would later become part of my journey.

Returning here after nearly four years feels deeply emotional. When I left Cagayan de Oro City, I stepped into a new chapter of my life in another city far from here. The years that followed brought many challenges, hardships, and some of the most difficult moments I have ever faced. Because of everything that happened during that time, coming back and seeing these familiar places once again fills me with gratitude and reflection.

What makes this return even more meaningful is seeing how the city has continued to grow. Many places have been renovated and improved, yet the warmth, energy, and spirit of the people remain the same. It is inspiring to see how this city continues to move forward, creating new memories for everyone who calls it home and for those who return after years away.

Back then, S Production did not yet exist. My work simply carried my own name, followed by Photography and Videography. It was a humble beginning fueled by curiosity, creativity, and a dream. Looking back now, I realize how much has changed—not only in the places around me but also within myself.

These photographs were captured entirely using my Infinix Smart 9, one of the most affordable smartphones available today. Yet these images prove that great storytelling is not defined by the price of the equipment, but by the vision behind it. Every frame represents a connection between the past and the present, preserving memories while creating new ones.

Four years ago, I walked through this city as an ordinary photographer. Today, I return with a broader vision, stronger experience, and a deeper appreciation for the journey that brought me here. Through these images, I have transformed memories into a story—one that blends nostalgia, the present moment, and hope for the future.

This is more than a collection of photographs.

This is a story of growth, resilience, and coming home.

A reminder of where I started, everything I have overcome, and the future that still lies ahead.
