𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦 | The Bulacan State University (BulSU) staged its third ALAB TINIG: BulSUans Welcoming Orye and Advocacy Concert, a university-wide welcome event for incoming freshmen, last July 3. The program featured special guest performers but was cut short and eventually canceled due to heavy rainfall.

‎As of writing, university officials have yet to announce a new schedule for the event's continuation or rescheduling.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞 | BulSU Bustos Welcomes Freshmen Students During Salubong 2026

Freshmen students of Bulacan State University (BulSU) Bustos Campus were formally welcomed for the Academic Year 2026–2027 as the Local Student Council (LSC), in partnership with various student organizations and Dance Beat Official (DBO), spearheaded the annual Freshmen Salubong on June 29 at the BulSU Bustos Activity Center, carrying the theme “Tiklado at Galaw: Indak sa Makulay na Simula.”

Marking the start of the morning program, freshmen students paraded across the university grounds toward the Activity Center, clad in color-coded attire corresponding to their respective departments and carrying banners representing their sections.

Capping off the morning session were the introduction of university administrators, the student council, recognized student organizations, and the campus publication, followed by a dance performance by Dance Beat Official (DBO).

Meanwhile, the afternoon session featured interactive games facilitated by masters of ceremonies Andi S. Moralde and Althea Reyes, alongside live P-pop performances from DIVI9, SWEETLABEL, ECHO, ALLIV, INBituin, and VIVID, as well as solo acts by YZ, Yuan Fuerte, and Ferds.

When asked about their experience, a freshman student described the event as enjoyable and expressed optimism for the academic year ahead, saying, “Masaya po yung event at nakaka-enjoy din po, inaasahan ko rin po na magiging enjoyable naman po yung first year and magiging maganda ang turo ng mga prof [professor].”

We step into the future carrying the heartbreaks of the past and a heavy nostalgia for the familiar lives we left behind.

𝘼𝙨 𝙬𝙚 𝙬𝙚𝙡𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙤𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙖𝙘𝙖𝙙𝙚𝙢𝙞𝙘 𝙮𝙚𝙖𝙧, 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙘𝙤𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙤𝙛 𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙧𝙮 𝙥𝙞𝙚𝙘𝙚𝙨 𝙨𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙚𝙨 𝙖𝙨 𝙖 𝙜𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙡𝙚 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙥𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙤𝙣. They will walk you through the raw, unfiltered spectrum of emotions we all encountered during our freshman year—from the staggering weight of grief and reality checks to the quiet victories of finding our footing.

May this serve as a reminder that whatever you are carrying in your heart at this very moment is welcome. No emotion is too heavy, too messy, or too small when it comes to turning the page. Every ounce of uncertainty, doubt, and hope is entirely valid. They are yours to feel, yours to identify, and yours to embrace as you step across the threshold of this new chapter.
