BFP R5 Baras Fire Station

𝟬𝟯 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 |On or about 1217H of 03 June 2026, personnel of the Baras Fire Station, under the leadership of SFO2 Dennis S. Turado, Officer-in-Charge, received information through the IMT Baras group chat regarding a self-inflicted vehicular accident involving a dump truck along the Provincial Road in Brgy. Puraran, Baras, Catanduanes.

Upon receipt of the report, the responding team immediately proceeded to the incident site and conducted an assessment in coordination with the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) and the Baras Municipal Police Station (MPS). Initial investigation revealed that the dump truck accidentally collided with an overhead arc structure situated along the roadway, causing the structure to collapse onto the upper portion of the vehicle.

Following the assessment, BFP personnel promptly secured the area and implemented necessary safety measures to eliminate potential hazards, ensure public safety, and prevent any secondary incidents. The responding team also coordinated with concerned agencies to facilitate traffic management and ensure the safe removal of obstructions from the roadway.

Fire Safety Inspectors of the Baras Fire Station led by SFO2 Dennis S. Turado, Officer-in-Charge, conducted residential fire safety inspections throughout the station’s Area of Responsibility. The operation made use of POC Body-Worn Cameras (BWC) to uphold transparency and ensure proper observance of standard inspection protocols.
During the activity, personnel carried out thorough residential fire safety inspections to assess the level of safety and preparedness of households within the community. The inspections focused on identifying potential fire hazards, including defective electrical wiring, improper use of extension cords, unsafe cooking practices, and improper storage of flammable substances, with the aim of preventing fire incidents and enhancing public safety.
