Empowering mothers, nurturing futures ☀️

On January 18, 2026, INA-KABABAIHAN: Maternal–Newborn Care Workshop continued its journey at Barangay Granada, expanding our mission to strengthen, support, and uplift more mothers within the community.

In partnership with the Barangay Council, and alongside Dr. Kathryn Kristy P. Bautista and Ana Mercedes Lamela, we provided practical, evidence-based knowledge and compassionate guidance to promote safe pregnancies, confident childbirth, and quality newborn care.

Each workshop is a step toward building stronger families and healthier communities — because when we empower mothers, we nurture brighter futures.

Together, we move forward — one barangay at a time.

Ukraine: An Ongoing Humanitarian Crisis

After four years of large-scale conflict, Ukraine still deals with a major humanitarian crisis. Because homes have been destroyed, many people live in unstable conditions. While fighting persists, countless families lack access to essentials like food or shelter. Due to damaged infrastructure, aid delivery remains difficult across several regions.

📍Scale of Displacement and Civilian Impact
Nearly 11 million Ukrainians have left their homes since 2022, of which:
• Around 7 million refugees live overseas
• Around 4 million are internally displaced within Ukraine

Women and children form most of those forced to flee; this exposes them more to mental health struggles, safety risks, or financial hardship.
More than 42,000 non-combatants - one out of every seventeen being a child - suffered death or injury. Around 2.5 million residences faced partial damage or complete ruin; this led to roughly $176 billion in financial setbacks affecting dwellings, power grids, transit routes, alongside essential public facilities.

📍 Widespread Damage and Basic Needs
Sustained attacks have damaged key services. Due to repeated attacks, Water systems, schools, medical centers, and power grids face long-term disruptions. As winter sets in, the risks grow worse - especially for those displaced or living near the front lines.

Across Ukraine, 12.7 million individuals need immediate aid. Many face difficulties obtaining basic supplies
• Safe shelter and/or emergency accommodations
• Clean water, food, and heating
• Healthcare access and psychosocial support
• Access to functioning educational systems
• Legal papers required for work, services, and mobility.

Neighboring countries have taken in many refugees - numbering more than two million, requiring ongoing aid due to the prolonged conflict and unclear prospects ahead.

🌸 INA-KABABAIHAN: Strengthening Maternal-Newborn Care in the Communities of Bacolod City 🌸

This December 7, we bring another session of the ongoing INA-KABABAIHAN Maternal-Newborn Care Workshop to the Granada Barangay Hall — continuing our mission of compassion, education, and community empowerment under the theme "Empowering Mothers, Nurturing Futures."

In this session, we further our commitment to supporting pregnant women, caregivers, and barangay health workers through hands-on learning and essential knowledge on safe pregnancy, childbirth, and newborn care.

With the guidance of Dr. Kathryn Kristy P. Bautista and Nurse Ana Mercedes Lamela, we work toward building a healthier, better-informed community for mothers and their little ones.

Let's continue empowering mothers and nurturing brighter tomorrows — one session, one barangay at a time. 🤍
