GIGABYTE RTX 5090

Problem: NO DISPLAY

Description: Unit was brought in by owner due to no display. As tested and confirmed by owner, unit is detected, and error 43 shows up in device manager.

After visual checking, found that unit is still fresh, no prior repair done. All voltages present, as well as all signals are working flawlessly.

Ran diagnostics and found one memory channel is problematic.

The issue with these heavy cards, since the 3080s woild be the weight of the heatsink vs the card. These humongous cards are putting unnecessary strain on the card itself, that a simple bump or simple mishandling would damaged the solder balls.

Reballed the ddr7 manually as my stencil is still for shipment.

Solution: Reballed 1 memory chip, repasted, unit back in action.

Unit: Sapphire Nitro 5700xt

Issue: Crash Under Load

Description: Unit installs ok, driver no issues. Whenever application is opened, crash occurs.

DDU, driver reinstall on old and newest versions, check on multiple test rigs, no go. No VRAM training errors as well.

Voltage tests shows all ok. Oscilloscope shows no abnormal signals. VRM controller utility shows no error on any of the phases.

Decided to reball, and yup, it fixed the issue.

Solution: Reballing. Issue resolved.

Macbook pro naman para maiba. ;).

No power fix.
