Bawal na ito sa batas. Malinaw sa Labor Code, Republic Act No. 11058, at DOLE Labor Advisory No. 17 (2022) na may right to refuse unsafe work ang empleyado at hindi sila puwedeng parusahan dahil dito.

Iniimbestigahan ng DOLE ang 98 BPO companies na umano’y nag-endanger ng workers nitong huling mga bagyo.

Sa imbestigasyon natin sa Kongreso, hindi lang natin hahabulin ang mga employer, titignan rin natin kung sapat ang response ng DOLE sa mga kasong ito, at kung kailangan ng mas malalakas na reforms tulad ng paid emergency leave, expanded remote-work options, mas simple at mabilis na reporting systems, at mas mabibigat na penalties para sa lumalabag.
