Legislative Assembly formally convened its First Regular Session for the month, on May 16, 2026 at exactly 7:30 PM with twenty-three (23) legislators present out of the twenty-seven (27) duly elected members of the Assembly. During the proceedings, the Assembly deliberated upon the reconsideration of the Omnibus Election Code of 2026 pursuant to the Vetoed Provision Message transmitted by the Executive Body through the Office of the President. In the course of the deliberations, the principal author of the proposed Omnibus Election Code Legislative member Nagum formally accepted the amendments introduced by members of the Legislative Assembly in order to ensure that the measure fully conforms with the recent ruling of the Student Court recognizing the Amended Student Government Constitution under LB Resolution No. 001, series of 2022, as valid, binding, and the supreme governing document of the Student Government.

The Assembly likewise took cognizance of the request for a legislative inquiry and appropriate legislative action concerning the missing copy of the Amended Student Constitution, particularly in relation to Student Bill No. 2025-2026-006 authored by Legislative Member Austria, titled “AN ACT CODIFYING AND FORMALLY FURNISHING THE 1997 STUDENT GOVERNMENT CONSTITUTION OF THE PHILIPPINE NORMAL UNIVERSITY NORTH LUZON, INCORPORATING THE RATIFIED 2022 CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENTS.” The Assembly further noted that the said legislative measure remains under the legislative reading and deliberation process of the Legislative Assembly.

Furthermore, the Legislative Assembly discussed the consistent and accumulated absences of certain legislators and underscored the importance of accountability, commitment, and faithful compliance with the duties and responsibilities entrusted to members of the legislative body. Following the consideration of all matters included in the Order of Business, the session was formally adjourned at exactly 10:44 PM.
