Edit: The ones I have on hand sold out - a new batch arrives Feb. 16 and will be shipped then.

Just in - lightweight and powerful Mycena 10x magnifying loupe, with 4 light settings (warm white, cool white, both, 395 nm UV). Charges via USB-C.

10x is the ideal magnification for fieldwork - 20x loupes are much less useful. Aluminum housing with a sharp triplet lens, and comes with a cleaning cloth, charging cable and carrying pouch.

$30 including shipping to the USA - international shipping available but it costs extra (usually around $15, depending on the country).

In 2025 I made 3000 iNaturalist observations and found 1582 species, 682 of them I had never seen before. I made 46,000 identifications for other people. I did a 5 month road trip to the southwest and east coast, went to Ecuador twice and Costa Rica once.

I also did a lot of Python programming this year - I built a program that replaces Lightroom for my photography and works a lot better, an online iNaturalist/MO label generator, a program that makes graphs showing what time any species can be found anywhere in the world and an online phylogenetic analysis website that is similar to phylogeny.fr but uses professional tools on the backend. I released everything under an open source license on my Github.
