We have always done what we loved- this was never about making money- it was always about allowing us to spend more time on the water and in the mountains. As we grew we realised we had a responsibility to protect the places we travel through and a responsibility to operate as safely as possible. By continually trying to excel we encourage other local operators to raise their standards too. the day you stop, you might as well give up.

On Saturday the 13th, Amazonas Explorer office staff and guides gathered at Casa Cusqueña for our traditional end of year meal. It was a chance to celebrate the hard work everyone put in throughout the year, and a lovely way to finish the season. Including a small gift before we head off for Christmas break. Well done everyone at Amazonas! 🎄🎄🎄

On the 4th and 5th of December, the Amazonas Explorer team went to Patacancha for our annual Porters Party followed by the Queña Raymi tree planting festival. The celebrations began with the traditional football match between guides, drivers, office staff, and porters, then a round of volleyball and plenty of good food.

After camping overnight, we continued up to Patacancha Pass, where, together with local communities, we planted 15,000 trees in a single day. A powerful reminder of our team spirit and of Amazonas Explorer’s ongoing commitment to its people and the planet.

Last weekend, members of Amazonas decided to start the reforestation efforts early, —perfect timing as we head into the rainy season.
Our team planted 60 trees on an abandoned green strip outside the Amazonas Explorer office in Cusco.
These trees are a symbol of Amazonas Explorer’s commitment to the planet and to improving the place where we work and live.
