Sunset or sunrise? 🌅
I was commissioned by Abdullah Ismaili to complete this painting of a Huey helicopter that he was familiar with having flown in his time spent as a pilot. The painting was intended to accompany a poem that he composed regarding his experience with flying the aircraft. Poetry and creative writing is something he has taken up since his retirement in the Omani military.
Completing this commission was a great pleasure. I really appreciate the challenge of capturing a unique subject matter with techniques and materials that I had never used before!

From the joy of confetti filled Super Bowl and parade celebrations to mundane strolls down the avenue to the grocery store an a dreary Tuesday afternoon. This street captures so much for me, everything exuberant, everything mundane and everything in between!
