Mia, the creative Muscat-based artist behind creates painted hats using materials she finds here in Oman — sea sand, shells, pigment, and frankincense powder. Not as decoration. As intention.

Mia currently uses era frankincense resins sourced from the mountains of Dhofar and works their powder into her paint. Into texture. Into the surface of something you wear, carry, and move through the world with.

Frankincense has been sacred in this land for thousands of years. Ancient Egyptians called it “make divine” — they burned it in temples, used it in burial rites, believed it carried prayers upward. In Oman, it has always been more than a scent. It is identity.
