A massive THANK YOU to everyone who helped make the Castlepoint Races 2026 such an epic success!

And of course, to the trainers, owners, jockeys, and the stars of the show – the horses – thank you for being the heart of race day. Without you, there is no event.

The weekend kicks off tonight with the Calcutta!

🌮 Salt Food Truck will be there for all your catering needs
🍻 Bar open from 6:30pm
🚫 No BYO – we are a licensed event
🎟️ Calcutta ticket sales begin at 7:00pm

Saturday Schedule:
🐎 Pony Scurry kicks off the day at 11:15am
🏇 First horse race starts at 12:00pm

🎉 Between races:

👗 Fashion in the Field
🩲 The great Undie 100 race!

💵 Only $5 entry fee
📖 Race books available from stewards on patrol and at the Secretary’s Office

🚧 Road Closure:
The road will be closed from 8:00am at the Holiday Park

We had an awesome message from Kristie Lee regarding her weekend at Castlepoint for the Races this year. Here is what she said.

"This year was our first year being there for race day on the beach, we had the best weekend in Castlepoint, thank you! Here is a pic of our boy Tutere, from Waikanae and he is wearing the lucky Wahs jersey you gave away to the lucky man with the right race day book. He was so kind and gave our boy his first ever Warriors jersey (he beat his father), who was hanging on the beach next to him. Big mihi / shout out to the kind tane for passing forward the love. It's just such a cool event and massive mihi to all those who get in behind to make it happen!"

A special mention needs to go out to all the Trainers, Owners, Jockeys, Horses and our Fabulous yard Marshall Stephen Beatson and his wife Dona.
Spectators enjoy watching the horses race along the beach but probably don't realize all the hard work that is put in to get those horses from the woolshed to the beach. You are all such a great team to work with and nothing is ever a bother.
