🌟 Shout out to the Victoria Student Volunteer Army for organizing inspiring Volunteer Panel Talk on Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington campus.

We had the privilege of hearing from passionate changemakers who are making a real difference in their communities:

🍽️ Jack Rainey – Everybody Eats
Jack shared how their kaupapa extends far beyond providing meals—emphasizing the care they show for their volunteers and the behavioural shifts that shared kai can inspire."
🌱 Brian Walters – Te Ohu o Te Raekaihu
Brian challenged us with a question: What can we do today to make a difference in the future? He reminded us that everyone has an obligation to contribute, and spoke to the strength of collaboration among groups working toward shared goals.
💧 Martin Andrews – Kumutoto Stream Restoration Project
Martin emphasized the importance of understanding your cause and recognizing the unique value you bring. He also offered practical insights into starting new projects and building momentum.
🌟Mas Quaid – Take 10
Mas spoke about the importance of diversity in volunteer teams and how volunteering has helped him gain skills and experiences he wouldn’t have encountered elsewhere.

💥It was also fantastic to see Victoria Student Volunteer Army exec team to bring this event to life and to witness so many students eager to get involved and make an impact. 💥

Happy Micro-volunteering Day!
Microvolunteering is a bite-size volunteering that might take only 15 minutes or so but create a tanglible impact.

Wellington Plus students run a microvolunteering activity, making fun toys for SPCA animals, at the recent volunteering expo at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington. This was a good opportunity to take their minds of studies and connect with other students.

We are looking some awesome individuals to help us out with our orientation events this year! We've got a range of opportunities running from the 11th Feb until 21st Feb during the day and at night☀️🌙

Help us out by handing out some O-Bags during the day OR support our O-Week night events by lending a hand in our Saferoom, Coatcheck or Hydration station 🫶

Volunteering at O-Week helps you earn points towards Wellington Plus. We also provide lunch/dinner for all of our volunteers.
