IHC Art Awards 2026 Artist Spotlight

Jared Barrington – Textile and Mixed Media Artist

We are delighted to celebrate Jared Barrington, whose artwork has been entered into the IHC Art Awards 2026.

Jared is a multidisciplinary artist from Te Atatū South who enjoys exploring a wide range of creative mediums. A talented textile artist, he works with embroidery and screen printing, while also creating paintings in both acrylic and watercolour. His work reflects a love of colour, creativity, and experimentation.

Creativity is a central part of Jared’s life, extending beyond the visual arts into music. He performs with the band The Mutes (from Mars) and the Brazilian drumming group AK Samba, bringing the same energy, rhythm, and passion to his artistic practice.

Jared’s diverse creative journey reflects his love of self-expression, connection, and exploring new ways to share his ideas through art and performance.

Hayley Fausett – Mixed Media Artist

We are delighted to celebrate Hayley Fausett, whose artwork has been entered into the IHC Art Awards 2026.

Hayley is a creative artist from Te Atatū South with a passion for action movies and special effects makeup. A talented self-taught makeup artist, she enjoys creating realistic scars, wounds, and movie-style effects, drawing inspiration from the world of film and storytelling.

Known for her imagination and attention to detail, Hayley brings creativity and flair to everything she creates. Whether working in visual art or special effects, she enjoys exploring new ideas and expressing her unique perspective through her work.
