Dad post.

Cooper will do a wrap up of the season this weekend. Thanks for all who have supported and helped us this season.

I’m replacing a number of worn suspension parts as well as building a new motor ready for 2026-27

We are now into stripping the car and sorting a few issues as well as putting the car on a diet ready for the next season.

New Track again for round 6 this time in sunny Timaru. Levels was a personal favorite track for me I really loved this track with its mix of high speed racing and low speed skill cornering.

Friday practice for us went well we found that the car has made more improvements in an aspect of the handling.

Qualifying we came out flying, doing our best ever qualifying start of the season front row p2. We sadly had an issue with the fan belt causing the car to overheat to an extent that we were unsure if the car would go again. Luckily thanks to dad who is non stop working to get this car going in the right direction we were able to get out there for not one but three races.

Race 1 we were doing so so well leading a national race which is something we weren’t sure how long it would take to happen, the fact it happened in season two was a very big milestone and accomplishment for me and dad/team. We ended this race in third but comfortably from the pack behind which was something we were very proud of with a mix of speed and also the car not breaking down.

Race two we experienced some issues with the motor but none the less we worked very hard in the second pack to find ourselves come third again which is something after lap 1 I was unsure would be possible to be honest. The cars handling capabilities is something that I’ve never felt so in control of and without the hard work dad has been doing I don’t think any position can show how much works gone in. We were very happy finishing third as another podium is something we are happy to take home. We raced hard on the last few laps with a veteran like Liam Foster and rookie Cooper Insley who continues to improve every weekend.

The last race we made some changes to not only limit damage but also limit the amount of speed the motor had loss due to the overheat. We were able to comfortably finish 3rd, and at one point pass Liam Nicholson and slot behind Chris in second which is another achievement to be not only with the front guys but even racing them. We finished third which is definitely a positive for how this weekend went and it shows how well our car is starting to look at there.

So so happy and so proud of the work we have done behind the scenes to get these results. Big thanks to dad once again for making this possible, big thanks to Chris, Liam, Liam, Edward and Cooper for all the clean racing it was super enjoyable. Can’t wait for manfield in 5 weeks and see what we can do there 👊👊

Really good weekend for us, we worked hard during our time off and it payed off, we had a good practice day finding out how the track went and where the limits are.

Our pace followed through into qualifying as in the wet we found ourselves in third which was quite an achievement for me and dad to be that far forward. Congrats to Yoshi Comeskey for his first pole he was super fast in the wet.

Race 1 I made a mistake off the line and dropped me to last place through turn 1 luckily the car had the speed to drive back through to 6th and our lap times were as good as the cars infront.

Race 2 we started in 6th and worked really hard with some awkward patches of oil and awkward conditions had us in 3rd in the last lap battling with a seasoned driver like Liam Foster. We sadly led 3rd to the line but lost out by 3 hundredths to him in the sprint down the straight leaving us in 4th which is still a great finish. A marked improvement from the round prior.

Race 3 we had a good start leaving us in a good postion with a slight gap ahead. With that gap ahead we ran the fastest lap of the race which shows how strong our pace was. We finished up in 4th with a safety car but was racing for 1st at one point with Christopher Symon , Liam Foster and Liam Nicholson Racing which is something I didn’t think I’d be able to do this season.

Race 4 we had a good start and worked our way to fighting at the front, sadly for Liam and Cooper Insley they had a coming together and we wish all the best for those two in getting they’re cars prepared for Levels. We found ourselves in 3rd. I was able to hold that and bring home me and my dads second podium this season which is something we are proud of.

With all the hard work behind the scenes it’s starting to pay off and after that weekend I’m so so excited for levels,

Big thanks to everyone that helps dad and I. Special thanks to Rick from Evolution Motorsport for the use of their workshop between rounds.

Off to Timaru this weekend for the next round.

Dad post…..

Things have been quiet in the garage since Round 3. Nice to have a break and tidy up a few odds and ends that have been on the p**s dad off list.

Engine has been out and we inspected a few things potentially concerning me back in the car today

Taken the opportunity to update and reroute the wiring loom. Removed the loom and fitted a basic PDM which helped simplify everything Pretty happy with how this has come out.

Lastly realigned the rear end thanks to Angus of Garage 9 for sorting over the Xmas break

Hope to start it and run in the engine this weekend
