Did you know that the winter solstice marks the shortest day and longest night of the year? In Aotearoa New Zealand, it occurs around 21 June and marks the turning point toward longer, brighter days. It also falls close to Matariki, a time of reflection, celebration, and looking forward to the future.

To mark this special time of year, we're inviting all students to come to school in their favourite pyjamas on Friday, 19 June (tomorrow).

There is no cost involved, just a fun way to celebrate the season together and bring a little extra warmth and comfort to the school day.

Not keen on wearing PJs? That's absolutely fine too. Students are welcome to wear their school uniform as usual.

We look forward to celebrating the shortest day and the season of Matariki with our TAPS whānau. 🌟🌙❄️
