Patersons (formerly named Paterson Pitts) has played a long-standing role in shaping land and communities across the South Island. With expertise spanning engineering, surveying and planning, they had built deep trust over many years, but their brand and website no longer reflected the scale, quality or professionalism of the business today.

Swordfox partnered with Patersons to help bring that gap into line.

The process involved working closely with principals across multiple South Island locations to better understand the business from the inside, while also communicating with clients to understand how Patersons is seen from the outside. That gave us a clear foundation for the work ahead, helping shape the direction of the brand, from mission and vision through to positioning, messaging and visual identity.

We built a website with a custom design and user journey tailored to the different audiences Patersons speaks to - from large-scale developers to everyday landowners. Client personas played an important role in shaping the UI/UX and content structure, helping ensure the experience feels clear, relevant and easy to navigate for the people using it.

The result is a more considered brand and digital presence, one that better reflects who Patersons is today, where the business is heading, and yes, a definite move on from the maroon-and-blue days of the past.
