One of the things that can slow you down when making camber changes at the race track between runs is that changing camber will generally mean you have to reset your toe alignment too. One way to deal with that is to know in advance the toe adjustment compensation you need to make on the steering arm for each given increment of camber adjustment, but it's still another adjustment that needs to be completed.

The arrangement of the upright on this Renault single seater shows how the camber can be adjusted independently of the toe where shims between the top upright clevis are used to adjust camber. Because the steering tie rod connection is on the same clevis as the upper control arm, the static toe stays constant when the shims are changed. This type or arrangement is common in the single seater and prototype worlds, but less so in GTs and touring cars.
