Heading to Wellington Family Speedway for some laps tonight, 30 cars for the demo derby and the kids bike the track tonight 👍

DEMOLITION DERBY & BIKE THE TRACK IS ON TONIGHT

Join us for the second running of our 'Bike the Track' event AND our Phoenix Metalman Demolition Derby on TONIGHT it is set to be one epic meeting for the family!

This year we are supporting the Child Cancer Foundation and fundraising for this incredible charity. This organization supports children and their families going through an unimaginable time, and provides many services and support to help make this time a little more manageable.

You can get involved in the fundraising by donating in our collector buckets on the night! Drivers will also have the option to donate some or all of their nights prize money to the charity ❤️

We invite all children (aged 16 and under) to bring their push bikes to this event, then part way through the event we will pause the racing and invite all children to ride their bikes around the race track!

Bikes will be stored safely away before and after the biking around the track. Kids under 5 must be accompanied by an adult on track.

Don't forget, kids under 10 get in for FREE as well!

Quick recap of our last 2 meetings, first was the Friday night at our home track for the New Zealand stockcar championship our first major event. Firstly just want to thank everyone that sent a message or popped in the week before and wished us luck for the weekend, appreciate all the support it always drives us to get the car back out there each weekend.

Friday night was pretty rubbish for us getting caught up in the first few laps in first 2 races and just carried on and finish the races to get some points. 3rd race got a half decent start from the back but during one of the stoppages noticed water temp was climbing and pulled in the infield with a broken waterpump belt.

Saturday night, we were put into one of the tier 3 groups. Our first race we were caught up in the first lap with a couple of cars, then one of thoes cars tried to get me in and up the wall but I reckon we gave as good as we were getting and gave the front bumper a good work out 👍 was called up the referee box after that one as they thought I had come off the grass to have a shot at a car but that wasn't the case, we decided to park up for the rest of the night as every corner on the car was looking abit sad and was probably enough work for us to do over the next 2 weeks before out meeting.

Last night we were a support class for the modified wellington Champs, first race the track was like a 4wd track hard to get a rhythm going just glad to finish the race. 2nd race the car died a couple of times before gridding up, car really lacked pace this race and getting back to the pits realized we had low fuel pressure and called it a night.

Will get a new fuel pump into the car, give the fuel system a once over and hopefully get onto the dyno to make sure we're ready for the next one 👍

Thanks again to everyone for the support, this sport definitely has its ups and downs. Our goal is to try get some solid finishings at the next few meetings and get the car at full noise again.
