Race Recap - KartSport Auckland Mt Wellington Club Day, 24 May 2026
I had a really good day on the track with 21 karts, the biggest field I've been in.
While there were a few niggly bits that we had to deal with, all in all it was great day.
I couldn't make a post today without thanking some of the people that had my back to get me out racing - especially my dad. My Opa who helped my dad. Dan Bray for getting me some very last minute kart parts. My sponsor AA Auto Centre Takanini for fixing my tow vehicle. Brenden for your constant encouragement and advice. And to the Evers, especially Dan for the support you've been giving me and my dad. Every bit of support or advice anyone gives me or my family doesn't go unnoticed and I know its helping me get better and better each time.

Not every race comes with a win, but it does come with a learning opportunity.
I somehow got beginners luck with my first race meeting off my X plate and being put in mixed grids with securing a P1 start in heat 4, something i didnt think that would happen for a long time.
I spent the day battling with weather changes, kart issues, learning driving styles and how to battle with drivers I havent raced on track with before. But with all the setbacks from the day I got some PBs on a track layout I haven't raced before, learnt a lot - and hopefully will get better starts now after finding the sweet spot in my kart in heat 4 and the finals.
I could not have completed yesterday without my dad. After my wiring loom got completely chewed out in heat 4 my dad put in a massive effort to repair it for me in a short turn around. Thank you for getting me back out on the track.
Thank you also to my mum for spending mother's day at the track with me.
Im looking forward to putting what I learnt this weekend into practice at my next race meeting back at my home track soon 🙌
Heat 1: 10 - 11
Heat 2: 6 - 10
Heat 3: 5 - 10
Heat 4: 1 - DNF

26 April 2026 - KartSport Auckland Mt Wellington Club Day, Race Recap.
Yesterday was definitely my best ever race day. A couple of races where I outbreaked myself and messed my placing up, but otherwise 5 clean races where I grew in confidence every lap.
Ive been working towards getting off my X plate and yesterday, I did it! I want to say a big thank you to everyone thats helped me get it done. Whether thats been giving me advice, helping me prepare for the written test, setting my kart up to perform, supporting me or just being a friend on and off the track.
I cant believe ive only been in the kart for 3.5months, I cant wait to see what happens in the next 3.5months.
