Sir Percy Rolfe Sargood (1865-1940) was the head of a Dunedin textile manufacturing company. At his death, the bulk of his estate was converted into a trust fund for the benefit of the arts and youth of New Zealand. The trust fund subsequently assisted a number of youth organisations and educational institutions. The Sargood Trust made a sizeable donation – thought to be £10,000 – to the fledgling
